SHALLOW ROEMER WALD GLASS

Posted in 3. European Glass, CATEGORIES OF GLASS TYPES ON THIS SITE, Roemers by Allaire Collection of Glass on September 25, 2014

This type of Wald glass is called a Roemer.  Roemers (Dutch) or Römer (German) are wine and beer glasses that evolved in the Rhineland and the Netherlands from the 17th Century.  The glass below has a shallow bowl with raspberry prunts on the stem.  A shallow bowl is a less common shape for Roemers.
