Blown glass in the Islamic word usually involved creating a blown vessel inside a mold.  Under the Qajars in Iran, however, Iranian artisans developed a technical mastery of free-blown and trailed glass similar to that practiced for centuries in Murano, near Venice.  All the glasses below where made in the 19th century

    John,

    Interesting article on “stuff” not that much collected amongst the known collectors. Shall we say that collecting this work is a kind of acquired taste? It’s for sure not our cup of tea. But. remains worthwhile bringing it to the attention of the folks visiting the blog.

    Have a question for you and Carole. What do you think of this object? This regarding the period of manufacture.
