Henk-Martin Goldschmidt Collection of Glass

Dr. Henk-Martin Goldschmidt (1951), is educated as a register clinical chemist, studied analytical chemistry at the Universities of Utrecht and Delft in The Netherlands and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Yeshiva University in New York. He received his Ph.D. at the University of Utrecht on statistics in clinical chemistry in 1987.

Henk-Martin’s interest in glass started in 1975 during his stay at the US. One of his close friends collected Depression glass and he joined in that passion. Many years later, as a chemist, he was still fascinated by this cooled liquid. During 2014 the started a glass collection with the main focus on European glass from the 16th and 17th century’s (anno 2021 approx. 150 items). He is fascinated by the use and function of glass during the renaissance period.
