**ROMAN GLASS AT THE LOUVRE

The purpose of this page is to highlight the glass collections in The Louvre which covers from 2000BC to the present.  The main focus will be their wonderful ancient Roman collection.     If it is possible I want to inventory information (measure, Provenance and date) about picture 10 and 11 (bowl with wavy glass band decoration -color light brown).

      Bowl with scallopped rim is probably 4th century AD. from the old city of Karanis in Egypt. The one in the Louvre is from Arveiller-Dulong 2005. The Louvre number is #1270
