Ancient Glass Blog of The Allaire Collection

The Hentrich Glass Museum in Düsseldorf, Germany is a part of the Kunstpalast. It has one of Europe’s largest and most comprehensive glass collections. It was initiated by Helmut Hentrich, who left his house and his collections to the City of Dusseldorf with the obligation that they would expand the glass museum.  The museum has been renovated and reopened in 2006.  The strength of the collection is in it broadness and masterpieces. Their collection is presented as a timeline from ancient times to the present day. For this blog page their excellent medieval collection of glasses will be accented.

The pictures attached were taken before the renovation and are shown in groups of the following periods of glass making and areas: Roman, Medieval, Roemers, Spanish, and Venetian.
