Green Glass: Ancient to Modern
The natural color of glass is mostly green. This is caused mainly by the iron content in the raw materials. This natural color can vary from very pale to an intense dark green. Other metal oxides additives may be used by the glassmaker to create the desired hues and intensity in the green family of color. The slide show below features green glass objects from the Allaire Collection.
I have a green 1899 to 1900 Loetz papillon Verde. I’m curious as to what the price is? I inherited it.
